Manuel Madrid
Account Director
Manuel Madrid brings nearly a decade of experience working with and within the media, using the stories of real people to distill complex programs and political debates in service of building a better, more equitable future for all Americans. He is a former journalist who covered politics and policy, with a focus on immigration, for several years at The American Prospect and the Miami New Times before making the switch to advocacy communications.
In his previous role as a communications lead at Community Sponsorship Hub, Manuel developed and oversaw the execution of owned and earned media for Welcome Corps, a first-of-its-kind federal refugee resettlement program. In his previous role as a manager at ReThink Media, he drove state and national coverage of democracy issues while helping nearly a dozen partner organizations build and implement their own communications strategies, focusing on advancing programmatic and organizational goals while assisting with scenario planning.
Manuel has spent most of his life between Florida, Washington D.C., and Virginia, where he attended Virginia Commonwealth University as an undergraduate. In his downtime, he enjoys playing soccer, listening to '80s New Wave, and making arepas.
